AI robot now helps travelers at San José airport 01.04.2026

San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) in California has deployed a humanoid AI robot named José to assist travelers in Terminal B, near Gate 24. Developed by Silicon Valley startup IntBot, José is powered by IntEngine, a proprietary system that integrates vision, audio, and language to understand social context and interact naturally with people. The robot, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 152 pounds, can communicate in over 50 languages, provide directions and real-time terminal updates, and answer questions conversationally. This four-month pilot program aims to improve passenger experience, alleviate language barriers, and test the effectiveness of embodied AI in busy public spaces, with potential for wider adoption in airports and other public venues if successful.
