AINRC-led NDA retains power as Congress alliance falters due to internal feud 06.05.2026

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy's All India N. R. Congress (AINRC), has secured a victory in Puducherry, winning 18 out of 30 seats despite a nearly 5% drop in vote share from 2021, achieving 38.7%. The Congress-led Secular Progressive Alliance faltered, securing only six seats with a 31.9% vote share, a 3% decrease from the previous elections, largely due to internal disputes. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), while a spoiler, won three seats with an 18.3% vote share in Puducherry, performing better in Puducherry district than in Karaikal. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) experienced a decline in both victories and vote share.
