Air Canada cuts service on more routes in response to rising fuel prices 07.05.2026

Air Canada is preemptively ending service on four seasonal routes this summer due to a significant surge in jet fuel costs, which have more than doubled since the start of the Iran war. The affected flights include Toronto to Sacramento, Vancouver to Raleigh, Toronto to Charleston, and Montreal to Austin. The airline stated that affected customers will be offered alternative travel arrangements or full refunds. This move follows Air Canada's earlier suspension of flights to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and WestJet's announcement of capacity reductions to manage escalating fuel expenses. Air Canada intends to resume full service on these seasonal routes in the summer of 2027.
