Air Canada pilot flew passengers for years with a fake pilot’s license, police say 10.06.2026

Former Air Canada pilot Geoffrey Wall is facing criminal charges for allegedly flying over 900 domestic and international flights as captain for nearly 17 years without the required Airline Transport Pilot License for Aeroplanes (ATPL-A). Police in Ontario announced Tuesday that Wall, who captained Boeing 767, 777, and 787 aircraft between 2009 and 2025, was arrested on June 1. While Air Canada stated that safety was not compromised due to regular competency training and flight checks, authorities believe Wall misrepresented his qualifications to the airline and regulator. His deception was uncovered in 2025 during a routine credential check, leading to an investigation dubbed "Project Icarus." Wall, who retired before the investigation began, faces charges including fraud and uttering forged documents, with a court appearance scheduled for June 29, 2026.
