Air Canada has assured customers that despite global fuel supply concerns stemming from the conflict between Iran and the United States, there is no fuel shortage impacting its flights, particularly those to Europe. In a Tuesday email, Mark Galardo, executive vice-president and CCO, stated the airline has a diversified and sophisticated fuel supply, anticipating no significant disruptions to its summer schedule. This reassurance follows Air Canada's earlier announcement in May regarding the suspension of 11 flight routes due to high jet fuel prices, which affected customers with alternate travel options or refunds. The airline has also implemented increased checked baggage fees and Aeroplan point redemption costs for certain routes.
