PRIME Airtel ends permit woes with fresh 25-year licence 06.08.2026

Airtel Kenya has received a 25-year license from the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), ending a decade-long period of regulatory uncertainty. The telecom operator had been operating under temporary permits since its original license expired in 2015, including a two-year permit that was set to expire in January 2027. The new license, issued under the unified licensing framework (ULF), was granted after Airtel paid an undisclosed fee.
