Senate President Godswill Akpabio has been affirmed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District for the upcoming 2027 general elections. The selection took place unopposed at the party’s senatorial primary election held at Methodist School, Ukana West Two Ward, within Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Akpabio, the only aspirant, participated in the election alongside party faithful, who attended in significant numbers. He characterized the event as a display of unity and support for the APC within the district and thanked members and constituents for their trust in his leadership and representation. Stakeholders also lauded the primary as peaceful, orderly, and transparent.
