Maltese water polo player Alec Fenech has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first Maltese athlete in his sport to win a league title outside of Malta. Fenech accomplished this feat with CSA Steaua București in Romania, securing the club's 21st national championship. The title was clinched in a decisive fifth match of the final series against CSM Oradea, where Steaua emerged victorious with a narrow 10-9 scoreline. Fenech was an integral part of the team's successful campaign in one of Europe's highly competitive water polo leagues.
