Alerte rouge aux crues, risque d’avalanches : voici tous les départements en vigilance ce samedi 21.02.2026

Météo France has issued red and orange alerts for floods and avalanches across numerous French departments on Saturday, February 21, 2026, following the longest consecutive rainfall period recorded since 1959, which began on January 14. While a period of drier, sunnier weather is anticipated starting this weekend, with weak rain possible in the north and spring-like conditions expected early next week before another disturbance arrives on February 25-26, major floods persist along the Maine, Loire, and Charente rivers. The forecast for Saturday indicates weak, intermittent rain in the north, while the south will experience dry, sunny weather, with strong winds persisting in coastal and Rhône valley areas. Temperatures are expected to rise significantly in the coming days, reaching up to 20°C in many areas and potentially 25°C in the Basque Country and Béarn by early next week.
