Alexandra Eala has made history at Wimbledon by becoming the first player from the Philippines to reach the third round of a Grand Slam tournament. The 21-year-old, seeded 29th, defeated Renata Zarazua in the first round and battled past Maya Joint in the second to set up a clash with defending champion Iga Swiatek, likely on Centre Court. Eala's breakthrough began at the 2025 Miami Open, where she defeated Swiatek as a 19-year-old wildcard ranked 140th in the world.
