The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) announced on June 25 that DBS, OCBC, UOB, and NETS will work to place an ATM, bank branch, or cashpoint within 500 metres of every HDB block by the end of 2027. As an interim goal, the same coverage will be provided near key public amenities — including transport hubs, hawker centres, and major supermarkets — by end of 2026. Cashpoints are participating merchants that allow cash withdrawals via NETS when making a purchase. The initiative is part of a 20-point playbook titled "Banking a Longevity Society," released the same day.
