Amid legal battles, Suno says it will start watermarking songs 06.08.2026

TechCrunch

Suno, the AI music generation platform, has announced new measures to address growing legal and ethical concerns surrounding its technology. The company will implement audio watermarking and fingerprinting to mark tracks created on its platform, making it easier to identify AI-generated content on streaming services. This move comes as Suno faces lawsuits from Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, and others, coordinated by the RIAA, over copyright infringement. The startup is also updating its community guidelines to explicitly ban "deceptive audio presented as real" and the use of a real person's voice or likeness without permission.
