Amnistie au Venezuela : une trentaine de prisonniers politiques libérés près de Caracas 23.02.2026

Approximately thirty political prisoners were released from Rodeo 1 prison near Caracas on Monday afternoon, following the enactment of an amnesty law on Thursday. This law was reportedly passed under American pressure after the capture of President Nicolas Maduro on January 3rd. The Venezuelan justice system has granted freedom to 402 political prisoners in total, with 80 released on Saturday and 23 on Sunday, including a key figure from Maria Corina Machado's party. However, over 200 other prisoners, both Venezuelan and foreign, have begun a hunger strike in protest of being excluded from the amnesty's benefits.
