Andoni Iraola has verbally agreed to become the next head coach of Liverpool, a move being spearheaded by sporting director Richard Hughes. Liverpool initiated talks with the Basque manager on Tuesday morning, securing his willingness to accept the role swiftly. Iraola, who previously managed AFC Bournemouth, is expected to be confirmed in the coming days. Hughes identified Iraola for his aggressive style of play, which is desired by Liverpool after Arne Slot’s team reportedly failed to deliver it last season. Slot was dismissed on Saturday following Liverpool's fifth-place finish in the league, accumulating only 60 points. Iraola, 43, announced in April his departure from Bournemouth, where he achieved their highest-ever league finish.
