Angriffe aus dem Netz Was Firmen für mehr Cybersicherheit tun können 23.02.2026

German companies are facing a surge in cyberattacks, resulting in approximately 200 billion euros in damages last year, according to a Bitkom survey. These attacks, originating from both private and state actors, have impacted businesses of all sizes, including a recent disruption at Deutsche Bahn caused by a DDoS attack that overwhelmed their systems. Cybersecurity expert Dennis-Kenji Kipker emphasizes that while the Bahn responded swiftly, many German companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises and critical infrastructure, lack adequate security structures. A Bitkom survey reveals 80% of companies fear significant disruptions from hybrid attacks within five years, with only 10% feeling well-prepared. Key concerns include the interruption of energy supply, financial systems, and IT/data systems. Experts advise implementing two-factor authentication, regular updates, backups, and comprehensive network inventories, alongside developing and training emergency plans, as 100% cybersecurity is unattainable.
