L’Autorité nationale des jeux alerte sur les plateformes de prédiction comme Polymarket, interdites en France4 min 24.02.2026

The French National Gaming Authority (ANJ) has issued a warning regarding prediction market platforms like Polymarket, which are illegal in France and present addictive characteristics similar to online gambling but without protective mechanisms. These platforms allow users to bet on political, sporting, and geopolitical events, and their global transaction volumes exceeded $27.9 billion between January and October 2025, with estimated revenues of $2 billion. While major players have implemented geo-blocking to prevent access from France, the ANJ urges user caution. Several European countries have also blocked Polymarket, deeming it an unlicensed gambling service, though it has received authorization in the US from the CFTC, it faces legal challenges in Nevada.
