Anonymer Spender schenkt Stadt 21 Kilo Goldbarren – und stellt eine besondere Bedingung 22.02.2026

An anonymous donor has gifted the Japanese metropolis of Osaka 21 kilograms of gold bars, valued at over three million Euros (560 million Yen). The benefactor has stipulated that the entire donation must be used exclusively for the repair of the city's aging and partially dilapidated water pipes. Osaka Mayor Hideyuki Yokoyama expressed his astonishment and gratitude, noting that the funds are crucial for addressing the significant investment required for infrastructure renewal, much of which dates back to the post-World War II era. The donation was received by the water authority last November, and the city plans to honor the donor's wish to improve its water supply system, which experienced 92 pipe breaks in the fiscal year ending March 2025.
