State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain declared that any attempt to disrespect the Liberation War or freedom fighters would incite another mass uprising, emphasizing that such actions would not be tolerated. Speaking at a meeting with freedom fighters in Noakhali after visiting the Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin Memorial Museum, Hossain stated that those who act against the Liberation War might be sent to Pakistan. He referenced Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's leadership and highlighted the struggles endured by BNP and its allies, including disappearances and sacrifices of leaders like Ilias Ali, as contributing factors to the 2024 uprising. Hossain also alleged that Bangladesh had become a "puppet state" and that the 2024 movement aimed to break free, noting the significant sacrifices made by student leaders and the crucial role of freedom fighters' children. He condemned remarks suggesting Pakistan was superior and vowed no compromise on the identity and sovereignty achieved through the Liberation War, criticizing parties that opposed Bangladesh's independence in 1971.
