Anthony Loke, DAP secretary-general and transport minister, addressed the Wanita DAP national congress in Putrajaya on September 6, urging against rushing into the 16th general election (GE16). He noted that following recent state elections in Johor and Melaka, various parties and quarters have pressured Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to dissolve Parliament early. Loke asserted that DAP's position is for Anwar to resist such pressure while he retains majority support in the Dewan Rakyat, as the unity government still has 15 months to fulfill its reform commitments.
