"Anti-Abdixhiku" Group within LDK claims to have secured signatures for Extraordinary Assembly 07.07.2026

A group within the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), known as “Anti-Abdixhiku,” claims to have secured the necessary signatures to call an Extraordinary Assembly of the party, aimed at removing chairman Lumir Abdixhiku. According to a source close to the group, one-third of the delegates' signatures, as required by the statute to call the Assembly, has already been collected. Work is now underway to secure the “50 plus 1” percent of votes required for Abdixhiku's removal. This initiative comes following dissatisfaction with LDK's results in the June 7 elections, where the party received 16.69 percent of the votes and 18 deputies. The head of the Peja branch, Gazmend Muhaxheri, is leading this process. Abdixhiku survived a vote of confidence in January of this year following the poor result in the December 2025 elections.
