Antisémitisme : Sébastien Lecornu annonce pour avril une proposition de loi pénalisant l’antisionisme 19.02.2026

French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced on Thursday evening, during the 40th annual dinner of the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France (CRIF), that a bill will be introduced to Parliament in April to criminalize anti-Zionist statements. Lecornu stated that this legislative proposal, championed by Deputy Caroline Yadan, is a necessary step beyond penalizing antisemitism, as calls for Israel's destruction endanger an entire people. He argued that anti-Zionism fundamentally challenges Israel's right to exist and highlighted the deliberate ambiguity some employ to conflate criticism of the Israeli government with denial of the state's existence. The announcement was made in the presence of approximately 1,000 attendees, including 20 ministers, at the CRIF event in Paris.
