Anutin says Thai-Cambodian border situation under control, unconcerned over MoU 44 cancellation 03.06.2026

Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has asserted that Thailand is not concerned about the cancellation of MoU 44 and the overall Thai-Cambodian border situation, stating that security agencies and the armed forces are actively protecting the nation's borders. He emphasized that any future negotiations should follow proper procedures and that the government's decisions prioritize Thailand's strength and the well-being of its citizens. Anutin downplayed reports of minor border incidents, describing them as routine and a reason for ongoing diplomatic efforts. He also dismissed claims of Thai politicians' involvement in Cambodian casino operations, stating that such matters are the responsibility of the police and that the government relies on its own intelligence and professional capabilities for border security, citing significant asset seizures under the current administration.
