Appeal after car drives towards Jewish children 07.05.2026

The Metropolitan Police in north-west London is investigating an incident where a car reportedly drove towards three Jewish students from Hasmonean High School for Boys on Holders Hill Road, Finchley, on April 20 at approximately 15:40 BST. The school described the event as an "antisemitic traffic incident," with a black car mounting the kerb as the students waited to cross the road. Fortunately, the 14-year-old boys were able to move out of the way and were not injured, though one father stated his son was "shaken" and believed the driver targeted the visibly Jewish children. Police are treating the incident as "religiously aggravated assault," and while no arrests have been made, inquiries are ongoing. This event coincides with a sharp rise in recorded antisemitic hate crimes in London and follows the Met's announcement of 100 additional officers to protect Jewish communities.
