Armenia has achieved a record-breaking first five months of 2026, welcoming 825,384 tourists, a significant 19.3 percent increase from the same period in 2025. May alone saw a record 199,541 visitors, surpassing previous monthly highs and indicating strong growth trends that place the country on track to exceed its all-time annual record of 2.33 million visitors set in 2023. The majority of tourists originated from Russia (39.8%), followed by Georgia (14.5%) and Iran (7.6%). Zvartnots International Airport remains the primary entry point, handling 62 percent of arrivals. This surge in tourism signifies a robust recovery and substantial growth compared to pre-pandemic figures and other recent years.
