Assemblée nationale : Le RN et LFI déposent des motions de censure sur la feuille de route énergétique 23.02.2026

The Rassemblement national (RN) and La France insoumise (LFI) parties have filed separate motions of no confidence against the French government following the publication of the country's energy strategy until 2035 via decree on February 13th. This multi-year energy program (PPE3), unveiled on February 12th after significant delays, prioritizes decarbonized electricity, particularly nuclear power, over imported fossil fuels, while also scaling back the deployment of onshore wind and solar energy. Both parties criticize the government's decision to bypass parliamentary debate and a vote, deeming it an "illiberal act" and an "unacceptable" way to make long-term national decisions. The RN specifically objects to what it calls a "de-growth policy" that favors intermittent energies and misrepresents nuclear power, while LFI argues that such crucial decisions should not be made by decree. The Senate is also set to debate the issue.
