An international team of astronomers has announced the discovery of a novel astrophysical object, a "black hole star," which challenges existing classifications of cosmic bodies. The object, designated MoM-BH*-1, was identified in images from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope as a bright red spot in the constellation Cetus. It is located billions of light-years from Earth and is believed to have formed approximately 660 million years after the Big Bang.
