At Beit Beirut, 'Hkeeli Ya Jnoub' preserves the stories that war attempted to erase 13.07.2026

During a hearing held on Monday, the single criminal judge of Jounieh, Antoine Hajj, adjourned to January 18, 2027, the examination of the case involving a lease agreement for premises located on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, concluded in 2010 between the Banque du Liban (BDL), then headed by Riad Salamé, and a real estate management company, Eccifice, headed by his former partner, Anna Kosakova. Intended to house a BDL emergency center, these premises allegedly resulted in the payment of several million euros in rent during the lease, which was renewed several times, most recently in 2016. The case has been in Judge Hajj's hands since July 2025, after being transferred by the acting former chief investigating judge of Mount Lebanon, Nicolas Mansour, who suspected, notably, money laundering and illicit enrichment.
