Ateneo players appear at NBI amid probe into Baterbonia, Adili deaths 8h ago

Eleven players from the Ateneo de Manila University men’s basketball team appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday to provide statements regarding a team-building activity on June 8 in Aurora. The activity concluded tragically with the drowning deaths of Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili. NBI Director Melvin Matibag stated the investigation will be fair and comprehensive, with head coach Tab Baldwin scheduled to testify on Friday, June 20. Both Baldwin and team manager Epok Quimpo have resigned, and Baldwin has apologized to the victims' families, though the families have indicated apologies are insufficient and seek further clarity.
