Attempted murderer gets early release for turning state witness 03.07.2026

Charalambos Chrysanthou, known as "Hamburger," has been granted a presidential pardon and sentence suspension, leading to his release after serving only six years of a 35-year prison term. He was convicted in July 2020 for 24 charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, illegal firearm possession, and drug offenses, stemming from two separate shooting incidents in Larnaca and Ayia Napa. He also received a five-year sentence for rape and assault in Paphos.
