The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation (Procuraduría General de la Nación) has opened a disciplinary investigation against Medellín Councilman Andrés Felipe Rodríguez Puerta, known as ‘Gury’, due to his controversial statements during a plenary session of the Council on June 23. On that occasion, he proposed directing “attacks, bombings, and others” against areas of the country where former presidential candidate Iván Cepeda received a high number of votes. The Regional Instruction Attorney General's Office of Antioquia must determine if these statements were made in the exercise of his duties as a councilman and if they could constitute a disciplinary offense by violating the duties inherent to a public servant.
