Au Théâtre du Soleil, une vague de défection inédite fait suite aux révélations d’agressions sexuelles 19.02.2026

The Théâtre du Soleil is facing unprecedented turmoil following revelations of sexual assaults that reportedly occurred within the institution in March 2024. Director Ariane Mnouchkine addressed the public on February 19, 2025, via the theatre's website, announcing reservation openings and the March 12 premiere of the second part of their historical fresco on totalitarianism at the Cartoucherie de Vincennes. This announcement comes a year after Agathe Pujol testified before a commission of inquiry, detailing a toxic environment for trainees and alleging a rape attempt by an actor. These serious accusations have cast a shadow over the internationally respected theatre, which employs 80 people and is known for its political and humanitarian commitments.
