In the early hours of Sunday, February 22, 2026, a residential area in Carcassonne, Aude, was the scene of gunfire targeting a home occupied by a couple and their two children. Around 3:45 AM, occupants heard a disturbance outside before two shots were fired at their house. One bullet penetrated the front door, ricocheted in the hallway, and passed through the wall of a 12-year-old girl's bedroom, lodging in the opposite wall. Fortunately, no one was injured. Police discovered a 9mm shell casing on the sidewalk. This incident follows similar events on the night of February 20-21, where the same door was targeted by two shots.
