Aufruf von ver.di Wo und wann Bus und Bahn stillstehen 24.02.2026

The ver.di trade union has called for a two-day warning strike in public transport (ÖPNV) across almost all German federal states, commencing early Friday and extending partly into Saturday. This action, impacting approximately 100,000 employees nationwide, aims to pressure employers in collective bargaining for significantly improved working conditions, including shorter work weeks, longer rest periods, and higher bonuses for night and weekend work. Higher wages are also demanded in specific states like Bavaria and Brandenburg. The strike will primarily affect bus, tram, and subway services, while Deutsche Bahn's regional, long-distance, and S-Bahn services are not impacted. Negotiations are stalled, with both sides reporting a lack of progress, leading to widespread disruptions for commuters, students, and weekend travelers.
