The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has revised the number of Australians missing in Nepal and Tibet down to 38, from 43, after five additional citizens were confirmed safe. Of these, one was in Nepal, one in Tibet, and three were outside the disaster zone. Minister for International Development Anne Aly expressed grave concerns for the remaining missing individuals, noting communication difficulties in the region. Shadow treasurer Tim Wilson welcomed the news but emphasized the need for continued government support for affected Australians.
