Northern Territory Police have released previously unseen photographs from the investigation into the murder of British backpacker Peter Falconio, 25 years after the crime occurred on July 14, 2001. Falconio, from Huddersfield, was shot on a remote highway near Barrow Creek, about 300km north of Alice Springs, and his body has never been recovered. The newly released images include a full-length picture of convicted killer Bradley Murdoch staring directly at a camera, as well as photos of the crime scene and the orange Volkswagen Kombi van the couple was driving. One photograph shows Falconio's girlfriend Joanne Lees looking traumatized shortly after the attack, while others depict injuries she sustained, including marks from cable ties used to bind her wrists.
