Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has stated his support for removing Prince Andrew from the line of succession to the British throne, following serious allegations linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case. In a letter to his British counterpart, Keir Starmer, Albanese indicated that the Australian government would accept any proposal to exclude the Duke of York, emphasizing that Australians take these grave accusations seriously. This stance comes as the British government considers legislation to remove Andrew, who was already stripped of his royal titles and military affiliations by King Charles III after his arrest last week. Prince Andrew remains eighth in line to the throne, and King Charles has publicly stated that "the law must take its course."
