German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Katherina Reiche and Canadian Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry Mélanie Joly have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation in the automotive industry. This agreement aims to foster diversified and stable supply chains and accelerate the adoption of zero- and low-emission vehicles. Both nations are committed to jointly addressing geopolitical challenges and strengthening economic ties. Key areas of collaboration include sectoral development of the automotive industry, promotion of bilateral trade, and advancement of battery and hydrogen mobility. A "Joint Cooperation Group for Automotive and Mobility" will be established to implement these initiatives.
