Amazon says AWS Bahrain region ‘disrupted’ following drone activity 24.03.2026

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Bahrain experienced a disruption on Monday, confirmed by Amazon, due to drone activity amidst escalating conflict in the Middle East and Iran's threats against US companies. This marks the second disruption to AWS operations in the region within a month, following a previous incident affecting facilities in Bahrain and the UAE earlier in March. Amazon is assisting customers in migrating to alternate AWS regions while it works to recover, though details on the extent of damage or recovery timeline remain undisclosed. The incidents follow threats from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to target US and Israeli entities, with AWS being a critical cloud computing unit for numerous websites and government operations, and a significant profit driver for Amazon.
