Azerbaijan is set to digitize its compulsory medical insurance system, according to a draft law amending the "On medical insurance" law discussed by the Parliament Committee on Labor and Social Policy. The proposed changes will establish a legal framework for electronic operations, including the creation of an electronic compulsory medical insurance certificate and an information system managed by the relevant executive authority. A key innovation is the introduction of electronic prescriptions, which will allow pharmacy organizations to dispense outpatient medications directly to insured persons based on digital prescriptions transmitted through the system.
