The Azerbaijan national judo team achieved significant success at the European Cup for young judokas held in Prague, Czech Republic. According to the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, the team secured a total of nine medals, consisting of two golds, four silvers, and three bronzes. On the second day of competition, Mehdi Abbasov (81 kg) and Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg) secured gold medals, while Jasur Ibadli, Janpolad Aliyev, and Nargiz Ahmadova earned silver. Bronze medals were claimed by Suleyman Shukurov, Davud Namazli, and Khadija Gadashova. Additionally, Abil Yusubov won a silver medal on the tournament's opening day. Consequently, Azerbaijan placed third overall among 33 participating nations and achieved a first-place finish in the boys' team competition. This performance highlights the growing strength of Azerbaijani youth judo on the international stage.
