“AzerGold” CJSC has initiated operations related to non-metal mineral deposits following a Presidential Decree from April 20, 2026. This initiative involves the transfer of limestone and sand-gravel deposits across multiple districts, including Garadagh, Absheron, Zagatala, Balakan, Oghuz, and Imishli, to AzerGold's jurisdiction. A dedicated Task Force has been established to manage these new responsibilities, developing an action plan to enhance the efficiency of non-metallic mineral exploitation and better meet market demand. Initial fieldwork has involved site assessments and preliminary analyses of technical feasibility, infrastructure, logistics, and environmental conditions. Geological exploration has already commenced at the "Guzdek Mulda" site in Garadagh and Absheron districts, with plans to expand to Imishli in June and later to northern regions, considering logistical challenges and economic viability. These reforms aim for more transparent and efficient subsoil resource management, incorporating digital systems and fostering sustainable extraction and job creation.
