According to Palestinian sources, the bullet passed through the father's hand before hitting the baby in his mother's arms, who was also slightly injured. The Israeli army initially stated that a soldier fired at civilians after their vehicle accelerated towards troops, but later decided to open an investigation by the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division.
