Interim President José María Balcázar announced this Tuesday that he will invite President-elect Keiko Fujimori to the Government Palace to begin the protocol process for the transition to the 2025-2031 term. Balcázar emphasized that all facilities are being provided so that the new government can become aware of the austere state of public accounts. Likewise, the leader suggested that Fujimori must prioritize dialogue with the opposition and direct contact with the citizenry to guarantee political stability. On the other hand, Balcázar defended his use of commercial flights and announced that he will request a report regarding the suspicious advance purchase of 31,000 pistols for the National Police. He also mentioned that former candidate Roberto Sánchez will be sought to ensure that the governmental transition is carried out in an orderly and transparent manner.
