Belgian air traffic resumes after agreement between air traffic controllers and unions 02.06.2026

The strike by Belgian air traffic controllers at Skeyes has ended after an agreement between management and unions, leading to the resumption of air traffic at 9:00 PM. The strike, which caused all flights to and from Brussels Airport to be canceled between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, arose from concerns over the implementation of a digital control center in Namur and the resulting reduction in the required number of air traffic controllers. Flights scheduled between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM were rescheduled, and hundreds of passengers were stranded in the terminals. The airports are expected to remain busy in the coming days due to delayed flights.
