Bruxelles convoque l’ambassadeur américain qui accusait la Belgique d’antisémitisme après une enquête sur des circoncisions illégalesà 18h11 17.02.2026

Belgium's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the U.S. Ambassador, Bill White, on Tuesday, October 15th, to address accusations of "interference" and "dangerous disinformation" following his public statements. White had accused Belgian authorities of "unacceptable harassment of the Jewish community in Antwerp and Belgium" and called for an end to what he termed a "antisemitic and ridiculous prosecution" of three mohels in Antwerp. Belgian authorities are investigating these religious figures for allegedly performing circumcisions without certified medical training, with a local rabbi reporting severe complications, including potential herpes and HIV infections, and even deaths among children. Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot deemed White's remarks "unacceptable" and a personal attack on Health Minister Frank Vanenbroucke, emphasizing the need for ambassadors to respect Belgian institutions and judicial independence.
