Benchmark raises its first-ever growth fund as part of $2B capital raise 04.06.2026

Benchmark Capital, a renowned Silicon Valley venture capital firm, has raised $2 billion across two new funds, marking a significant departure from its long-standing tradition of smaller, early-stage-focused funds. The new capital includes a $1.25 billion vehicle for later-stage investments and a $750 million early-stage fund, providing greater flexibility in a market with escalating valuations. This strategic shift, including a recent foray into late-stage investing via a special purpose vehicle for Cerebras, appears to be a response to the capital demands of AI startups and a desire to maintain its competitive edge. The firm has also seen partner transitions, with new additions Everett Randle and Jack Altman joining the team, signaling an adaptation to the evolving venture landscape.
