Blue Origin regains access to launch pad after New Glenn explosion 20h ago

Blue Origin is assessing damage to Launch Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station after a New Glenn rocket exploded during a hot fire test on May 28. The fully stacked, 322-foot rocket was destroyed, raising concerns for its commercial partners and NASA's Artemis moon missions. The rocket was slated for launches including an uncrewed lunar lander in 2026 and a critical role in the Artemis III human moon landing mission in 2027. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson visited the site and met with Blue Origin leadership, reaffirming NASA's commitment to supporting the company's recovery. Despite the significant damage, some infrastructure, including the propellant farm and the launch tower, is repairable.
