Barisan Nasional (BN) is confident of victory in the Johor state election, targeting more than 40 of the 56 seats in the State Legislative Assembly to retain control of the state government. Johor Umno deputy liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan expressed this confidence in an interview with Bernama, citing his observations after assisting campaign efforts in 25 of Johor's 26 parliamentary constituencies. He stated that BN is in a winning position based on encouraging voter response, strong candidate performance, and the effectiveness of the party machinery at the District Polling Centre (PDM) level.
