Jacky Delaup, a 79-year-old Frenchman, is volunteering at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and has chosen to live in his converted van with his dog, Sqizz, due to the prohibitive cost of hotel accommodation in Predazzo. This marks Delaup's third Olympic experience, having previously attended Albertville 1992 and Sochi 2014, and he traveled 600 kilometers to park his van near the ski jumping venue. He is utilizing electricity, shower, and toilet facilities provided by a local farm owner. Delaup has expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of food provided to volunteers, noting they receive only one meal per day, necessitating frequent trips to the supermarket. He aims to attend the 2030 Winter Olympics in the Alps, planning to travel by electric bike.
