Brain behind GrubHub looking to launch new service to help when your car breaks down 22h ago

Former Grubhub leaders, including co-founder Matt Maloney, are launching a new digital roadside assistance platform by merging Curbside SOS with Honk Technologies. This move aims to disrupt the market dominated by AAA by applying the efficient logistics and transparent pricing models of food delivery services to vehicle breakdowns. The combined entity, majority-owned by private equity firm Frontenac, completed over one million jobs last year and will continue under the Honk Technologies name for corporate operations, while retaining the Curbside and Honk brands for their respective consumer and business markets. The new service will offer real-time tracking of assistance, digital payments, and is training gig workers for basic repairs to improve response times.
